The Barkin' Basement

The Barkin’ Basement is entering the New Year with enthusiasm. The first months of operation were a surprise and delight. Generous donors gave a wonderful variety of items to supply our store and the community responded with pocketbooks and encouragement. The clothing department has been expanded and now features many designer labels including Chico, Jones of New York, etc. There have been donations of men’s slacks, suits and blazers to round out our offerings. The Barkin’ Basement’s clothing has a distinctly boutique aspect.

The success of the Barkin’ Basement is certainly a direct result of our customers’ desire to help the homeless animals of Jasper County. Since we are an all volunteer organization, all proceeds of the store that exceed our operating expenses go directly to JARM. We are delighted to say that five cats that spent some time being adorable at the store have been adopted to their forever homes.

We ask that you continue to help us by donating new and gently used items to the store. Your help is necessary for the continued success of our store and the Jasper Animal Rescue Mission. In those infrequent cases where an item is best suited for another thrift shop, be assured that we donate those items to another thrift store where they can generate funds that their charity.

THANK YOU FOR CARING AND YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR OUR JASPER COUNTY ANIMALS!

Seniors for Seniors Program Established for JARM Cats by Maranatha Farm

Seniors for Seniors is a program that matches senior people wanting companionship with an adult or senior pet who needs a home.

This really amounts to a permanent foster program. The senior person selects the pet they want, takes it home and provides it with food and flea control. Maranatha Farm provides heartworm prevention, spay or neuter, all vaccinations and worming, as well as any medical care ever required by the pet.

In the event the senior person becomes unable to care for the pet, it is returned to JARM/Maranatha Farm.

No adoption fee is charged for this program but the person must fill out an Adoption Application and qualify the same as an adopter.

The Senior Person – Maranatha Farm – Provides vaccinations and wormings.
